Day tickets to travel around Lake Balaton and the Bakony

Just like last year, two kinds of day tickets, Balaton24 and Balaton72, are available for tourists at Lake Balaton and its surroundings.

As MÁV-Start reported, from Friday, 15 April, day tickets are available again at Lake Balaton and Bakony, which are valid not only on trains but also on buses. More than 30,000 people travelled with the day tickets in the last sales period, according to the article of turizmus.com.

According to kisalfold.hu, it was highlighted that Balaton24 and Balaton72 entitle you to an unlimited number of trips around Lake Balaton. These schemes also offer a good deal for those already staying at Lake Balaton to visit the tourist attractions available on the lakeshore. Last year, more than 29,000 tickets were purchased.

Renewed tickets

This year’s Balaton24 and Balaton72 tickets are also valid on Volánbus services on the eastern shore of the lake. This means that you can use them to travel around Lake Balaton and, as they can be used on Volánbus lines that run parallel to the railway line on the lakeshore, we can even use them to get to Tihany.

Balaton24 and Balaton72 tickets can be purchased every day from 15 April to 1 November.

• HUF 1,090 (EUR 2.88) at ticket offices and vending machines
• HUF 981 (EUR 2.61) online

Below 26:

• HUF 750 (EUR 2) at ticket offices and vending machines
• HUF 675 (EUR 1.8) online

The price of Balaton72 is the following:

Above 26:

• HUF 2740 (EUR 7.3) at ticket offices and vending machines
• HUF 2466 (EUR 6.56) online

Below 26:

• HUF 1830 (EUR 4.87) at ticket offices and vending machines
• HUF 1665 (EUR 4.43) online

Balaton cruise season starts, online ticketing is now available

As another article on turizmus.com reported, Bahart (Balatoni Hajózási Zrt.) awaits those who wish to sail and relax on Lake Balaton with a new timetable, online ticket purchase and exciting programme boats. In the 176th cruise season, several ships have been renewed and new ones will arrive on the lake this year.

Online ticketing, the most eagerly awaited new feature for travellers, is scheduled to start in May.

New routes

From mid-May, Bahart will be offering a new service at the eastern shore: instead of the usual Siófok-Balatonfüred-Tihany route, direct trips will operate between Siófok-Balatonfüred and Siófok-Tihany, which will allow passengers to reach their destinations faster. During the high season, there will now be 9 daily boat services between Siófok and the northern coastal towns, and 10 on Fridays and weekends.
